2020 ASCE Southeast Student Conference Competitions

Updated: Oct 24, 2019

The 2020 ASCE Southeast Student Conference is a 3 day conference where engineering students from over 20 Southeast schools engage in networking and competition activities. This year the conference is being hosted by the University of Central Florida in Orlando and will be held March 12th through 14th.

Our chapter is very excited to announce to that all of the competitions for the conference have been revealed. The conference is broken up into National, Regional and Spirit Competitions, and has something for everyone!

Amongst our Executive Board, we have already filled some positions for Team Captains, but there are still some open spaces for any of our new members who are interested in having more of a leadership role. There are also spaces on every competition team for general body members to fill.

If you are eager to get more involved with our chapter, the conference is a great chance to do so! It is also a unique feature that can be added to your resume and intrigue employers. Participating in these conferences exposes you to real-world engineering that you can emphasize when employers ask you about your past experiences.

With that being said, you do not need to have taken engineering classes or have any other prior experience to participate in any of the competitions. Plenty of our students have led competitions with the help of teamwork or professors even if they don't have much experience with the topic. If you're a newer student who has yet to take advanced engineering classes yet, many of our upperclassmen will be happy to share their knowledge with you as you work on the competitions together.

Listed below are all the competitions, as well as the link to their official rules, so you can learn more about each one. If you are interested in being a part of a team, feel free to reach out to any of the Team Captains (contact info can be found on our About page).
